Red blunt ended cylindrical flower buds turn into long cylindrical tube-like flowers.
Pictures from Houston. Believe to be not uncommon.
Thanks...I did not even know the common name for odontonema. I had one given to me many years ago, by a close friend who was pretty knowledgeable, and it kept growing and growing and growing.....she'd given it to me as a lobelia cardinalis. I was eventually able to tell her that I knew for absolute sure that it was not a lobelia...lol..
I could be wrong...
and.....
"maybe I should have kept my mouth shut....."
