Two of the photos in this contest were disqualified and removed. If you had previously used one of your votes to vote for either of these photos, then your vote for that image has also been removed and you can now go back in and use that vote to choose another one.

I don't understand...which two photos are gone? How do we know if we used one of our votes for either/both?
I went back to the voting page and it says I have one vote left...but it does not show any of the red check marks that I already added to certain photos.

Please help.

If you have a vote left then one of the ones you voted for was removed.

Greene, I checked and you have one vote remaining. The other two votes are still there and the red check should show up for you.

Thanks. When I checked (twice) this morning there were no red checks for me to see.
I can see them now and will make my final vote.

I'm only seeing one photo that has changed since yesterday morning in the final 16 photos. Is that correct?
(Maybe the other one was changed before then?)

The first photo to be disqualified was removed almost immediately after voting began so few people saw it. It was removed because it had been entered in last year's photo contest at ATP.

The 2nd photo was not able to be proven to be owned by the person who submitted it.

completely. It's really not fair for the rightful winner of that category which has no chance at getting Best of Show since it only got its position this morning, only 12 hours before the voting ended. But I don't see there's anything I can do.

Next year I will have additional checks in place to try to further prevent these kinds of things from happening.

Nullify the best of show voting and restart it. I know it throws off the time table, but that is the only fair way I see.

Well, heck, to be fair then the veg/fruits and the perennial category should start over first...all those wasted first place votes would have surely ended up somewhere!

That's true that a complete restart would be the only completely fair way, but that would be a bit much. Restarting the Best of Show voting would be a compromise that would only delay by 48 hours, and give those in the affected categories a better chance.

I'm not going to nullify the best of show because that would mean deleting votes and asking them to revote and that just doesn't feel right.

Extending the voting by another couple days, though, I have no problems doing that at all, and I'm going to do just that.

Maybe making a broader post on the front page, too, would be a good idea. Not everyone follows these sub threads. Perhaps an announcement asking people to check their votes because a couple of the pictures have been necessarily changed - and that votes for those pictures have been removed.

I don't understand what happened with the photo that was removed because the person couldn't prove it was theirs? How would a person prove a photo was theirs? I don't think I could prove any of mine photos were mine ?

The photo was plastered all over the internet, and on the photographers website itself, where he claimed copyright on the image. The person who uploaded it to our contest said it was an honest mistake and asked me to pull it from the contest.
