I didn't see any info about their use on that site. I was thinking about cutting off the bottom and stem, drilling a water hole, and using them to grow strawberries. Wouldn't want them to rot after all that work.

TK, I've never grown that particular variety, but they are a hard-shell gourd (Lagenaria) and once cured should be "hard." But, being plant material, I don't know that they would hold up to something like being a planter for strawberries....

I think once they are dried out,could take up to a year, you can make bird houses out of them, the outside must be sprayed with a shellac. They are really cool looking
Ugh, more work. Well, maybe if I ever get around to it. Was thinking they would be hard to water too, without washing out the dirt. And, soaker hoses don't work for pots
