There might still be a station out of Chicago that plays polka music. DH (Polish) used to listen to it on Sundays.

My friend's grandparents listened to polka in the morning on the radio. I spent the night with her and in the morning she said see. Polka, lol!

One of my favorite memories was spending the entire day at the Wisconsin State Fair, driving home listening to an all Polka station and driving past fields of mint that are being harvested. I mean 80 acres of Spearmint. Incredible scent fills the air. Gene

You know you are from the midwest when you see ears of field corn along the highway that bounced off the truck.

Better yet field corn growing along side the roads. Never seen so much corn growing along the roads in ditches as I have this year.

As I am in Minn. and the middle of it, south of me is probably Midwest, north of me is Siberia.

South of here they have three seasons, Fall, Oct. 1-Oct. 31, Winter till June 1 and after that hell weeks.
North of here they have Fall Oct. 1 - Oct. 15, Winter and mosquito season, which may run at the same time.

North of you is Canada. That's saying enough right there. Gene

You know you're in the Midwest when you have to follow one of those tractors for several miles because it's hilly, there is a no passing zone, and the shoulder is no longer wide enough for the large equipment to pull over - and you're late for work

In Iowa they did widen many shoulders. What is nice is the guy in the tractor will let you know it's safe to pass.

Ick! We've had some stinky days. I'm surprised it's not more since we have one that isn't stinking all the time, on the bluff to the west of us, and a really smelly one a few miles south. We smell it a lot. There should be a lot of them spreading the stuff. We have a lot of picked crops already.
