Thank you all. Because these are indoors and the space is compact, it is easy to get a nice picture Sticking tongue out I tip my hat to you.

Great pic Greg. I really get into visiting botanical gardens (and taking pictures while there).

This one in Seattle is small but they do a great job of maintaining it and over time as I age, these lovely plants do too! Sticking tongue out

I know what you mean there. The one closest to me (12mi) in Springfield is really, really small (conservatory is like 50' diameter), but at least they got one. It seems to have the same plants. We go up to Davenport/Quad Cities most years to attend a 3 day blues fest and always visit the botanical gardens in Davenport and Rock Island. The Davenport one specializes in Hostas while Quad Cities has rare and unusual trees. We also frequent MOBOT (Missouri Botanical Gardens) in St Louis; now there's a world class botanical Garden!

Well, I have to admit the cacti at MOBOT don't get that big.
They have a fair amount of statues but the real showplace is their geodesic dome designed by Buckminister Fuller called the Climatron. Tropicals year round in there.

I agree with jmorth. The Bot Garden in St. Louis was fabulous. I was lucky to go there when the glass artist Chhiuly displayed his glass art of spheres, tubes, organic forms to compliment all the tropicals in the Climation and outside gardens. What a beautiful botanical treat that was. Surprisingly, the St Louis Zoo was another venue of nicely kept botanical grounds that serveed as wonderful surroundings for animal and people alike.

MOBOT also runs The Butterfly House in Chesterfield, a western suburb of St Louis and the Shaw Nature Preserve, west of St Louis. Absolutely fabulous places.

Opps, I just reminded myself, this thread is in praise of Greg's great cactus pic.

I too agree with all the many great compliments Hurray! Hurray!

Loved by even a photo-challenged photographer. Sighing! (best way I could think to describe my poor skills in this area as well as my not so great cameras.) Hilarious!

Loved all those you entered... some I was able to guess even before we could look at names. This is not one I would have guessed was yours. GOOD JOB!!!!
