I'm unfamiliar with this plant, but I loved the photo and it sure looks good enough to eat! I was happy to see that it was looking it up in the database.

Thanks Donald! Apparently Pindo Palm (Butia capitata) is pretty hardy and can survive temp's to as low as @ 15ºF! Wikipedia says it grows as far north as N.Y. on the east coast and as far north as Washington on the west coast ... I'd say that's one very hardy palm!

I've never tasted the fruit but my dog tries to eat it when it's all over the ground beneath the trees!
