How does a person drill a hole in a tea pot? With a certain type of bit?

With what is called either a diamond bit or a ceramic bit.

I was halfway through snapping when I saw that sign that said No Photography. Oops. Fortunately, that room was on the second level and the curator was on the first level, so I wasn't caught.

I usually make what I call silly pots, Haven't done it here yet, I drive an electric fence post in the ground and then start stacking pots on it to hang every which way and the top one is the teapot or pitcher

Unfortunately around here the price of tea pots have skyrocketed, I guess some one started a collection and word got out.

It was fun. The museum was why we detoured around the north of Wales and went to Conwy in the first place. My friend got to see Oxford and, in return, I got tea pots.

I've never drilled a hole in ceramic but tips I've seen suggest starting with the smallest diameter and then working up to a larger bit. The whole idea makes me nervous, I'm scared I'd ruin it!

Debra, what a neat place! Your photos are reminding me that my mother has some teapots in her collection of china - I forgot all about them. I'm going to have to check them out the next time I'm "home".

The shrub that's blooming in the avatar is a Hardy Hibiscus 'Luna Pink Swirl'. The blue grass is Leymus arenarius/Blue Lyme Grass.

Here's some info and I agree with Debbie, start small and work your way up. That works with wood too, to prevent splitting the wood

Thanks Tee! Looked up the Blue Lyme Grass, after seeing "invasive" in every description I'm not sure I want to try it. It's so pretty though!

Yah, most ornamental grasses can be invasive if you let them get away from you. Sink a large pot, metal cylinder, or something and plant it in that to contain it if you don't want it to spread.
