I really feel betrayed by them (DG) after having paid for a years subscription ..

Finesse? DG under current ownership and "management"? NO way!

@Moonhowl - that's a serious problem. I'll have to see if I can send a message. Maybe we've all been silenced. Mine works but as of 12/29 I'm free of DG.

Two awkward changes now. Makes me wonder if some IT person is trying to earn their keep with staying busy, mucking things up and trying to bring subscribers into the "current" trends.

I hear you, M. I am very glad that my dg membership is up for renewal in January. An extra $20 in MY pocket. Smiling

@pirl, usually you can click on a person's name and get to their profile page to send them mail. I tried that as a shortcut... nothing happened...tried a couple names just to be sure...nada. Went directly to my D-mail page and tried to compose a new mail.... nope...tried three different subscribers...nope. Got the same error message each time.

Jean - I have no idea what's happening over there, but much more importantly neither do they!

My Dmail did go through.

M. I will be going to the store tomorrow and buying all of the ingredients I don't currently have for the treats. Tucker will love these! Thank you so very much!

I wandered over to DG to see what's going on and found a whole lot of angst and dissatisfaction (quite similar to when I left). So glad to be shed of that. Hopefully more DGers will find their way over here. Welcome to all you newcomers!

Somehow I spotted "759 members" (not subscribers). Did anyone else see that?

When they get down to "2 members or subscribers" I have to wonder if Melody will be complaining to Terry about changes over there!

That read 729, 516 members...but the "new subscribers" list usually has the same names on it for days at a time, and are usually only a couple or so.

I see that there are maybe 30 free forums there. Other than Plant ID and Insect ID, The couple or so forums that I enjoyed will cost $20 to converse with folks there. I do greatly treasure them, but for the most part, they are all also on Cubits or ATP. Sighing!

I did the same thing -- boy, "change in format" is putting it pretty mildly! Blinking

I would say that anyone from DG that comes here is going to be pretty amazed that we can actually ask about problems with the site and such and get a response and resolution in short order. Without having to pay for a subscription. Almost unbelievable, when you stop and think about it... Smiling

I'm new to ATP, and while I have gone to DG many times, I never joined or subscribed so please excuse the probably dumb question - is Dave from ATP the same Dave from Dave's Garden? Confused

@IbisFla. Yes, our Dave here on ATP started Daves Garden back in 2001. The site was sold and Dave remained as the administrator. The site was sold again to the current owners and Dave remained for a very short time. After DG, and a lot of angst... Whistling We were fortunate that Dave started Cubits, and then ATP. Hurray!

August of 2000, actually. My son @jon was a week old when I originally launched DG.

We had fun running DG for many, many years and we are so happy to have been running ATP for 4 and a half years now. Creating and managing a gardening community like this is a real privilege and we love every minute of it. The care and craftsmanship that goes into making and constantly improving ATP demonstrates how much we care about all our members.

And the caring of your members for you and your family is reflected in the growth of this amazing site, Dave.

I think the problems of the past on your old garden might have been the best thing that happened because it gave you the impetus to create ATP with nothing holding you back. It's a beautiful thing you've created here for us.

A mere 'thank you' seems a bit inadequate.

And while I'm here, welcome to our new members. It's so good to see old familiar faces again.
