Do you know what this one is Greg? Some kind of orchid? How tall was the plant? The strings look pretty long. Good combination of form and color in the photo.

Thanks Donald, yes they are two separate plants and the string one was 4 feet long!! Very interesting plant!!

looks like a Dendrochilum latifolium!
(I saw another one, so that's cheating, but I think that's what it is)

Dirt - I'll look it up and see - it seems easy to id because of those long bloom stalks (strings)

Yes, it does look to be a variety of D. latifolium:

There's only one photo in our database of a bloom of the species: Orchid (Coelogyne latifolia) but no photos yet at the entry for Orchid (Coelogyne latifolia var. macrantha)

Lin thanks for those links - yes this is definitely Dendrochilum latifolium var. macranthum I will edit my photo
to have the dendro. magnum be the main item in the picture, then I'll add to the database
