Seed starter is a bagged mix of peat moss and some other ingredients and is lightweight. The media is used to start/germinate seeds. Because it is expensive, I use it just to barely cover the seeds after placing them on top of my regular potting soil.
Yes. Since I had already thoroughly wet the potting soil before placing the seeds, I needed to moisten the dry starter mix after covering the seeds. Then I place the container into a clear plastic grocery bag and secure the opening to keep air out.
Thank you for the additional info on seed starting. I'll be sure to refer back to it when I get ready to start mine. I've never seen commercial bags of seed starter, but will look for that today while I'm out. If I don't find it, would vermiculite mixed with peat work as well?
For sure...I have used vermiculite and peat moss mixed together also. I use whatever I have on hand and become creative as needed so I don't have to go out and buy something.
Karen, a friend from Australia posted a photo of one of her Adeniums in full bloom. Thought it would give you an idea as to how they can look with a full head of blooms.
Quite spectacular.

Karen, I will send a note to Sandy and ask her. They start all of there own there, as it is difficult or too costly to import into Australia. She might be able to give me more insight into what to look for in hybrids.

Hetty, I could see your tree looking much like the one of Sandy's with some pruning. Make it look mushroom shaped. They truly do push out the blooms after a pruning.
With yours being so floriferous, it would surely be a candidate to achieve that shape.
Nice flowers.

Karen and others. I received a note from Sandy and the tree in photo of hers is one she received 19 yrs. ago and remembers it as "Sakura" and it is a bohemianum.
