I do have the Bayers but haven't used it. I may have to do it. The aphids are soooo tiny and all clustered right in the new baby leaves and the developing buds. It's hard for me to get in there without causing more damage than the aphids! One good thing about this is that the buds seem to develop so slowly that we may be back from our trip before they open.

When we get back I do plan to buy some ladybugs for the greenhouse, and I may put a few in the grow tent!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! Our whole family is meeting to share a large Florida beach house for a week.

I hope you do get rid of the aphids soon. Hopefully they do not destroy to many buds. We can only cross our fingers that the buds still are there when you get back.
Congratulations on your anniversary. Hope you have a nice time. Group hug

That is true. You can take good care of them, but those creatures seem to find them anyway.

I really miss being able to go out in the yard and get a coconut! Yum! I wish I was there, too! Sighing!

I just noticed a new problem. Only one leaf on the plant looks like this. Originally I thought maybe my LED light had burned it, but that probably isn't it. If it was the light, shouldn't most of the damage be on top of the leaf? The top edge is red/'brown but the bottom is a mess. I'm hoping it's not more insects, but a close inspection doesn't show any at the moment.

Karen, I don't recognize this kind of affliction. If it was only the one leaf, then I wouldn't worry about it. Adeniums respond to mysterious stuff their own way.

I've sure never seen anything like this. I've been so careful with it even when taking it on our road trips. I make sure nothing brushes against it. After I hose it off, I usually pat it dry gently to get most of the moisture off because our water is hard and can leave white spots. I sure hope it's nothing that will spread. The plant has to be left alone for almost 2 weeks. I have it on the light and the watering, but I didn't hook up the webcam to watch it. Doing that was just too much, with our rush to get ready.

Karen, I have not seen this myself. If it is only one leaf, I would not worry. Looks to be some environmental issue and not bugs to me.
If leaf was at lower extremities of tree, could be completely normal.

I hope you're right, Rick. I held the plant up and tried looking at each leaf underneath. The plant is so full, even looking at them was hard. They crease and break so easily. I didn't see any more. It's certainly weird. I had a dream about it last night, and it was a horrible fungus. The good thing is that it doesn't look like fungus. I'm hoping there won't be more when we get back. I really hate leaving it.

Just back from our trip to Florida. My husband had put my precious Adenium on water, but failed to set the timer to auto. Sad It didn't run at all for the whole week we were gone, and it was on the strong LED light the whole time. I'm shocked that it looks exactly like when we left. No leaves or buds have dropped. That is very lucky!

We had a great time and spent time on the beach and in the water every day. I found a lot of shells and got some nice pics of tropical plants there. It's a fantastic climate for the tropicals around the Ft Myers Beach and Estero Beach area.
