Becky, I was going to suggest President Ronald Reagan because it is very fertile but I didn't see a rust rating for it in the database.

The parentage on 'President Ronald Reagan' does not look promising wrt rust resistance...

I have to agree with you since on both sides of the parentage there is rust susceptible daylilies.

A bit challenging to find some good near-white bloomers for the south that do have rust resistance and are ev or sev or not a hard dormant.

We shall overcome, Becky. Onwards.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I agree about Darla Anita - I got it and tossed it after the first bloom. I thought it was the ugliest daylily I have ever seen and do not get it at all. I won't even buy a new one if I notice it has Darla Anita as a parent.

Thanks. I love them to death. Sweet as can be, but also crazy maniacs when they play and chase after each other. They are Ragdolls - I got them as babies. They are 1/2 brothers - same dad, different moms (about 2 weeks apart) - their mom's names are Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow and their dad's name is Rockstar. They will be 3 years old in August/Sept.

Oh! They are precious! I think you should grow some seedlings and name them after your kitties! The names of their parents crack me up!

DD recently acquired a Ragdoll kitten, also an American Bobtail kitten. The Bobtail (male) she says is very mellow and amiable, whereas she thinks that the Ragdoll (female) is somewhat aggressive!

I have had Darla Anita for many years and always look forward to its bloom. Like the saying, someone's trash is another man's treasure, we all have different perspective on things. I don't see Darla as muddy but as a flower with stippling, which I think is unique.

I, too, like the stippling which makes it unique from other cultivars that might be similar in form and colors.

Lily Munster also has stippling and I just had a seedling bloom from it that has stippling also. Check it out on the July Seedling thread.

Cindy - Quite a few of the many seeds I got from you that had Lily Munster as a parent, also have stippling. The stippling adds even more interest to their look, IMHO. Thumbs up

I like some of the pictures - that is what made me buy it to begin with. I guess I just don't like stippling - to me it looks muddy and I am pretty sure I don't have any others with stippling - I like clear colors and I don't care for the pink edged daylilies either, and everyone loves Beautiful Edgings, but I don't - I gave it my mom. However, I really like the striking bi-colors, but I know some people do not. The ones I love the best are the ones that grow bigger every year and like it in my garden. I think Wild Child is a little messy/muddy and I hated the very first bloom (plus it took 2 years to bloom) and I almost tossed it, but then it kept blooming and it had tons of blooms and it got prettier every day and it looked fantastic in a clump so it is staying. I am pretty new to daylilies (3 years), so it took me while to understand that it takes time for some daylilies to bloom and the first blooms are not always good. I don't know why - not all daylilies are like that.
