I have several ocotillos in my Scottsdale, Arizona yard. They do well, but never look as happy as this one that I took to New Mexico to see if it would like it at my 6500 ft elevation in Arenas Valley. To my surprise it rooted quickly, and was full of blooms and leaves the first Spring there. It survives the cold and snow, and is one of my first plants to leaf out in Spring. Even though it's not native to the area, there are several others I've seen that are also doing very well.
