I have two potential blooms on my new NOID cattleya, but I just noticed that the sheath (?) is turning yellow. That doesn't look good. Any chance that I will still see flowers? Confused

I am not sure, Ibis, but I don't think that sheath color means anything. Some varieties maintain green sheaths when budded/flowering and some seem to have sheaths that dry. Your buds look fine and that's what I want to see. It looks like you'll have yellow flowers of some sort.

Thank you, Ken - I hope it's not significant. I thought the flowers would be yellow too, but the other open bloom is orange & red. Still a pretty flower Smiling

Ken is correct. The sheath has done its job and will wither away. Don't worry about it.

Pretty flower indeed. A deep "yellow". Whistling
