Thread OP

I am looking for a source for dahlia seeds...working on an experiment and need to grow a number of dahlias at one time, can anyone suggest a place that is reasonable?

Swan Island has them but the price is $15.95. I've never tried their seeds but they are the #1 leader in dahlia tubers.

I did see them, but that is expensive for 100 seeds, plus shipping...for what I am wanting to do it is out of my price range...

It's "free shipping" but even so, the price seemed high to me as well. It's the quality I'd expect from them and the plants they have. They would also know which ones develop the best results. I don't have any experience with seeds from them, only common store bought seeds but the results did not thrill me.

Sorry! I had no way of knowing you are in Canada.

I agree about the price. Wish I could suggest some other vendor. If I think of any other place with low prices, I'll let you know.

This vendor has dahlia seeds, accepts CAD, and is based in Canada. But, I've never bought from this vendor, so I don't know how good the quality will be.

I would think you could contact any of the Canadian Dahlia breeders and see if they have extra seed they are willing to sell you. Anyone who collects seed probably ends up with way more than they have room to deal with.

If you have a Walmart close by, I picked up a package of Dahlia Unwin's Dwarf seeds last week there,
and have had great success with these little beauties in the past.

I ordered some new (to me) dahlias from Brent and Becky"s. I have seen good reviews about them so I decided to give them a try. I was surprised by their large selection and reasonable prices.
