This was one of my favourites. Loved the colours, the perspective, and the cluttered sky; beautiful! I would love to visit Scotland too!

I liked this as well. It sent me to Google images to see more of the site Smiling . Then I had to read about it. Which always references something else to be queried. This photo took a lot of my time Smiling before I was done.

It looks regal and serene at the same time. If my memory serves me right (and it doesn't always) I voted for that scene.

Scotland is beautiful. We visited there several years ago and some of the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

I first visited this garden at Floors castle in 2011 and was overwhelmed by it, particularly this hot colour border. I took my sister Ann (Galanthophile) with me next time I went.
If you ever get a chance to visit Scotland (I live in Northumberland which is just below the border with England), do go to this fantastic garden.
The main perennial beds are superb. This one is a more traditional one of mixed colours.

When you get to the end of that pathway and stand opposite the gates if you look left you see what's in Ann's photo, and right is this view.

Walk to the building at the end of Ann's view and turn left and you encounter a tranquil blue and purple hued border.

And Floors castle itself. Wonderful!

Lovey dubby Oh my ... I just want to get on an airplane and head to Scotland!
I'd actually love to have a few months to explore England, Scotland (and Ireland, where my great grandparents were born.) Really lovely photo's Sue ... thanks to you and your sister for sharing some of the beauty in your part of the world!

My daughter married a guy from Scotland. They plan to stay in Houston presently, he works on oil pipelines (Houston = oil). We met his parents when the marriage happened . They live in Scotland. The father is deeply into golf (Scotland = golf).

I'll have to find out how closely his parents live to the above location just in case the marrieds ever go visit over there and (here's the plan) take my wife and me along.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

@plantladylin My GGGgrandmother was from Ireland. Came over on the west coast to San Francisco. GGrandma married an Irishman whose parents were from Ireland, then Grandma married a Scot. Mom blew it and married a typical American Heinz 57. Lol. DNA says I am 50% Irish but I think that just means Celt. Sure wish I knew where GGGgrandma came from in Ireland.

@Oberon46 My great grandfather (James O'Farrell) and great grandmother (maiden name O'Driscoll) were both born in Cork, Ireland but I don't know what year they emigrated to the U.S.A. or where they landed but once they got to U.S. soil, they dropped the O' and the last name simply became Farrell. My grandfather John Patrick Farrell, was born (( think) in Pennsylvania and my grandmother Frances Anne (Nolan)Farrell was born in Washington, D.C. which is also where my mom was born.

You know a lot more than I do. My family's name was Burke and Hammond. I even? Hired Ancestry to try to verify names, and such but they couldn't add much more than I knew. All elders are gone now so I face a blank wall.
