Team Label, or Not?

Today's "Team" article addresses plant labels. We've seen gardens full of labels, and gardens with not one in sight. Which team do you fall into?

I am team map... I draw very detailed maps and have the gardens laid out - then I cna find what I need but no need to have labels everywhere!

I label my plants. Now since my neighbors chickens like to come over and steal the tags I also map.

Edited to change still to steal. Lol

Since I don't care for labels, I make maps. Microsoft Excel is a great program for creating maps, especially if the plants are in rows or can be represented on a regular grid. Here is a map of one of my iris beds:

The color coding allows me to easily keep track of many things like which ones aren't growing well (yellow), which ones are growing well but didn't bloom (orange), which were divided this year (green bar), etc. The possibilities are almost endless.
