These seedlings are from 12 November. As you can see some of them are small and chubby while others are tall and thin. They also still are very green. Is this normal, and what can I do about it. Will this change later?

Willeke, as much as I would like to help out with your questions, I can't since I don't know anything about raising adeniums indoors. Hopefully someone with this experience will pipe in and give advice.

Thanks Kadie. I hope so. I like to know if it is perhaps lack of light or that i did keep them inside the propagator to long? So many possibilities.

Willeke,
The taller ones look to be reaching for light. I have been faced with this also and can be insufficient light from when first germinated or afterwards.
I most recently had a similar thing happen with a batch of seedlings. The seeds I received had very irratic germination. Adenium seedlings do not need strong light to germinate, but should receive 50% sunlight or strong artificial lighting as soon as they break soil, within a day to two.
I left these seeds in the propagator to retain humidity, as the first seeds germinated within 5 days and subsequent others over the next 8 days. The first became a bit etiolated from this, as I did not put under my lights until they where all up. Generally with good seed and relatively close germination rates, within days of each other.
Growing them under lights in our climate definitely assist for more even growth, but my feelings are that it is good light and more over high temps. which help most.
Your seedlings look healthy and green is good. Size of seedlings can vary so much even just with species, hybrid of seed and genetics. Not always in our control.

Thanks Rick. I guess my problem is the same as yours. I kept them in the propagator to long. They where in there for quite a while, becaus I thought it was good for them with the heat. So that was the problem I think. I have some new seeds in there now. One of them is poking out now and 2 are starting. So I think I take them out as soon as possible. Will thos seedlings get better later on you think?

Thanks in advance. Thumbs up

Willeke, They will thicken up over time, but will probably be taller than others. Just watch them and see. I usually find that most seedling start to come up on Day 5, sometimes a bit earlier. Then the others come afterwards. I like to take them out of propagator and have under my lights, once there are about 50% of them germinated. Then I just keep the top of the grit or soil from drying too much.

Thanks Rick. I will do that than. Once the good part did germinate I take them out and place them in the windowsill. Keeping them moist till the rest comesout.

Thank You!
