I have a mix of bromeliads and I'd like to post a photo of them. They are mixed so it would be tedious to try to ID each plant. Can I ID them as a variety of Aechmea, Vriesea, Neo..etc?

That's a nice collection.
You could post to the database under the general entry for 'bromeliad' and put the info in the caption part of the db entry, assuming there is a designated entry place for bromeliad. If not, you could ask an administrator to make one using the 'add a new plant' form and then posting your pic therein after approval.
Just a thought...

Thanks, they're actually in my fountain. We are under water restrictions, so I can't run the fountain. I need to get them into hoophouse before freeze. I'll try the general entry. Appreciate the suggestion.

I don't think we have a general entry for Bromeliad but it would be nice if it were possible. There are many different genus of Brom's ... I have difficulty most of the time trying to determine which genus some bromeliad belongs to. I have a few that I can never remember if they are Neo's, Vrisea, Aechmea etc. Some are rather difficult to tell apart. I used to have a list telling how to identify different types by their leaves, broad, narrow, flat, erect, spines .... but I have no clue whatever happened to it; probably in a folder somewhere and one of these days I will find it. I'll wait a while longer. I'm still pulling them out of the fountain.

If a Bromeliad custom database is created, you'll be able to add the photo to the parent page of that section of the database, but in the meantime you could post it as a multi-plant image.
