If we get to 10 players a few days before active swapping begins I will be posting a game or two for people who want to play. Participation is definitely not a requirement and the modest prizes for the winners will be a choice of seeds from my stash that I do not list for this swap. Watch this space for more information if the 10 player goal is met.

LilyDayDreamer pushed our swap members to 10 so I'll post a short and easy game in her honor. After each game the winner can select a pack of seeds from a list of what I consider special seeds for one reason or another. They might be from plants that don't set many seeds so I think collecting 3 or 4 seeds is a coup. Or they might just be my favorite color, or maybe they are the last of something I've enjoyed and that are a little hard to find. When a pack is selected the next winner will get to choose from the same list, but I will add one new pack to replace the one that was won.

This game will stay up until everyone has a chance to guess or for 24 hours, which ever comes first.
The bowl in the photo holds the seeds that I have packaged to add to my list next. Guess the number of packs in the bowl. You are guessing the total number of packs, not the total number of different types. The person whose guess is closest wins. In the case of a tie I will post a tie-breaker.

I will be back this evening to offer the winner of the guessing game seeds to choose from for their prize. There is still plenty of time to guess if you have not.
So far 98 of our posted seeds have been starred on wishlists. I am a flower person primarily but am pleasantly surprised by some of the interesting fruits and veggies offered....makes me want to dig up another row or two.

Lilydaydreamer was closest with 27. Everyone guessed much lower than the actual number of 43.

The cotton please! We (me and my 7th-8th grade students) grew 2 plants of it this year but it bloomed so late that the seeds I collected from just one pod do not look viable (kids still loved the cotton fiber which the history teacher asked to keep along with the pod ). We will still try our couple seeds but it will be great to have some more seeds to grow. And yes, I will start it inside earlier this year!

Good choice Lisa. Erica is right, that particular cotton is stunning both for foliage and flower. I will put them in your return package.

I assume everyone is pretty busy right now and I am too so I will hold off posting another game until Saturday. It will be a little more complicated than this one. I will also add a new seed to the prize list to replace the black cotton that was chosen this time.
