What are the criteria for making that list? I have a plant of the day every day but it was on the list yesterday, and today it isn't. Just puzzled..

Looks like you added it a minute too late to make the cut. It says you added it at 4:01 PST, and I think the new ones are posted at 4:00.

That's a good guess, Zuzu but in this case, the time doesn't matter.

In order to appear on the homepage, each featured plant must have at least photo posted to it. Today's Plumeria of the day is Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Courtade Pink') and it has no photos therefore it can't show up.

Will these stay in prime real estate position, or is this just a try out thing? I would rather not be inundated with flowers I have little interest in, and much better liked the photo contest shots that have now slipped below the blooms of day. In a perfect world, I' d love to customize my home page, which I think was discussed at one point. Maybe a winter project?

It's a try out thing. For a while in that real estate position I was showing the recent threads from the photo contest. I'm exploring different ideas.

Sorry, Hetty. It was just a stab in the dark, and one that didn't connect in this case. I don't know enough about the workings of the "plant of the day" feature. I'm glad you got an explanation from Dave.
