Julien Newmar is a new one for this year.
It had a short scape with very few buds.
The flowers were big and beautiful.
Can't wait to see what this one does in an established clump!

IT performs well in zone 6. It has produced some great seedlings but they all look a lot alike.

Have liked Julie Newmar from the first time I saw it in a friends garden. It bloomed the first year it was planted an has good plant habits and has increased steadily.

Got rid of this plant (with tears in my eyes) I had loved the flower, but the plant had a bad case of rust year after year.

Julie Newmar was one of the first daylilies I actually bought, most of my plants were pass me downs from my parents or gifts from friends. Then I developed an interest in daylilies and actually started buying a few.
Many of the first plants I bought faded out pretty quickly, and only a couple of them actually thrived. Julie Newmar, had been slow to increase, and being an older daylily it does not have a lot of buds and minimum branching, but still it is a beautiful bloom. It has continued to return and I will keep it as long as it will keep coming back.
