This is Blue Holly (Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Girl'). Both male and female plants are needed for berries. My problem is that birds and my roaming chickens have finished 'harvesting' the berries before Christmas gets here!

I agree I tip my hat to you.

Thanks everyone. I don't know about school: I feel that I'm the 'student'. I worked all summer to save a good crop of holly berries for Christmas. But as they began to ripen and turn red the birds and my 'free ranging' chickens made short work of them. So I got stuck with what was left for a banner! Sad

Here are two of the 'bandits'. I hate to pen them up: Looks like I will have to install some netting next year if I want Christmas Holly!

Leon, that is one splendid rooster! I chuckled when you said you got "stuck" with the holly. I get stuck with ours, too! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

I agree. I am not overly fond of roosters but that is one handsome devil!!!! I can easily see him being eye candy to the hens. Hilarious!

He is really a big baby and will feed out of my hand if it's something he really likes. I enjoy leaving them run loose, but they tend to get into the 'wrong' places sometimes, especially the holly berries and the tomato patch. Yes he is popular with the hens, Ann. He calls them whenever he finds a bug or something good to eat. I've had to keep them up lately because of hawks in the vicinity.

Love the banner and that rooster is stunning, especially the design on his chest!
