Holy cra* .. sink holes seem to be becoming quite popular these days .. Poor people ...

Have to laugh .. I looked at the pic I posted .. if you look at the "curve" in the top bar of the chainlink fence on the left .. that,s where a bear came over it last summer .. at night .. so happy the dogs were in the house .. did a number on the fence, just to get at sunflower seeds !!

The snow we got a couple of days ago (2 or 3 inches) is nearly gone, thanks to the temp staying above freezing all night. I'm hoping it will finish leaving before tomorrow, when winter reality is going to be setting in here.

James, I saw that sink hole on the Weather Channel a little while ago -- scary to think about driving along and falling into something like that! Blinking Crying

Yep, what y'all are getting tomorrow, we get Thursday evening/Friday morning. 20 F for us. I guess you'll be in the teens with a wind-chill perhaps in the single digits. Sad

Areas of fog before noon. Otherwise, cloudy. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

James,
Cold weather is pretty hard to take when you aren't used to it.
Sinkhole, tragic and scary. I'm so sorry for the loss of life. So senseless.

Marilynne,
''38F here this morning, and, RAIN'' Now that is strange weather!
That looks like my snow and we had slush too.
OMG! I went back to look at the fence. Wow! Bear crease!

Almost all the snow has melted here. I am amazed! We also have sun and it was supposed to be cloudy.

Weedwhacker said:Rita, the snow is probably headed your way -- we had snow pretty much all day yesterday, although it only amounted to 2-3 inches and is very wet. Today the sun came out and our temp got up to 40, so I was hopeful it would all go away, but still have some on the ground. Tomorrow is supposed to be around 40F too, but maybe a little more snow/rain... not really complaining, since it IS December 5th, after all! Rolling my eyes.

Supposed to be rain here by us.

8F .. so RpR .. looks like the northern deep freeze is descending on us, and, Sandy it's coming your way ..

As much as I tried to fool myself about wearing just heavier sweaters out, it looks like COAT and JACKET time ..

I also start my Mrs Santa 'thing' soon .. my DS is the world's thinnest Santa, and my DGD is the Elf .. we go to the local hospital, but, have now been asked to come to some other events .. should be interesting ..

It is 15F right now and windy.
It is going to drop till , they predict anyway, next week highs below zero.
As with the summer, the highs are not that far off of normal but the lows are warmer than the norm.
Now below zero teens is still cold but a long way from sub-zero twenties and thirties.

It was exactly 23 years ago we had similar temps but several feet of snow on the ground this time of year.
I remember because I spoke with a friend who attended a snowmobile race, Dec. 13, I missed but had wanted to go to.
That was an era of true north country winters, a lot of snow and below zero highs in the naughts to teens.
I crawled under my car and put a new starter on my car outside when the high was -18, as I said you get used to it and when that breaks, teens above zero is jacket weather.

RpR,
18 below. Wow, we haven't seen temps like that in a long time. Maybe not as long as 23 years, but it's been a long time. I'm glad. I don't like it when the furnaces never want to shut off. Dangerous!
