I have a large but rather spindly looking shrub in my yard; *Blush* spindly because I never seem to get around to pruning it to shape. I can't really offer any cultural tips because this shrub just does it's thing without much help from me. It gets watered when the irrigation system is on and never gets fertilized but it blooms almost year round and has a few flowers even now, in late December.

Received this plant as a rooted cutting so it is still small but I did get a bloom from it. I've not seen such an unusual bloom and it is one of my favorite hibiscus. This is still in a pot but am looking for a place in ground to transplant in the spring.

I have El Capitolo, like the second message photos...have had it for years as a house plant. I also have El Capitolo Sport, which is a peach color, and the plant is huge! got both at the same time as wood...the sport is 4X the size of the red, but flowers just as heavily. I am hoping to use both in a breeding plan I am working on...they are both blooming now and have been for about a month, will be done soon for a 6 month break, they bloom faithfully every 6 months!
