Don't feel sad David, my two clivias did not bloom either and I also followed the steps..unless I moved it out too soon from its cool spot. I am still learning myself. But both are lush with leaves, and one has many babies, so I am still happy with it. Smiling

Mine (Good Hope?) is up to 18 leaves. Aside from a few ends of leaves browning due to watering, the plant looks great.

I cannot wait for my seedlings to grow.!! Thumbs up Each has all of two leaves! Rolling on the floor laughing Hey - they had none when I started a few months ago! (I really need to keep a journal.)

Glad to hear your seedlings are doing well. @DavidlmoThey are such slooooow growers as seedlings. I think I have had the same 2 leaves for months! Tho they may be getting a bit longer? IDK? It's in slow motion!

You go, David! Wahoo, you might see flowers from those babies in your lifetime . . uuhhh . . how old are you again?? Hilarious! Angel

Seriously, these are definitely plants that take their sweet time to mature. Used to be it was some outrageous amount like $75 to buy a blooming size Clivia. Right there is an indicator that it takes forever to grow them out to blooming size. My kids bought me these yellow ones as a gift all those years ago, and they were small single fans. Pretty sure they bought them off eBay and they were a lot less costly than the ones in the catalogs - we now know why!

@dyzzypyxxy

68 in August Elaine. YIKES! (One of the worst aspects of age (aside from aches and pains) is freaking memory. grrrrr I forget all the time who here was kind enough to send me something. Big Grin I tip my hat to you.

Like everytime I look at my Bonsai ( ~ 10 different species) I say to myself ... "Self, why in heck did you not start your interest in Bonsai when you were 35 - not 65!!" Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling

But I don't mind waiting. I love the challenge of growing from seed. I really do. When my 3 YO from seed Dietes bloomed, it was well worth it.

When I look at those from seed, I say "I grew that!!"

The clivias I had in the ground did have more rain than they should have had. Heck,they were even under salt water last fall for a few tides. However, the large plant is in a container on my covered front porch and rarely watered during the winter period. It is said they like to be crowded but perhaps mine is too crowded - just maybe. Shrug!
