I brought these babies back from nothing, they were tiny chicks that I was sure weren't going to make it, that was a full year ago - and they are now about 2 inches, Gallivarda is one that gets large and amazing colors of reds and yellowish! And then this dark purple red in winter! Hurray!

Greg I could be wrong, but that might not be 'Fuego'. It shouldn't be fuzzy like your photos shows.
I'll go out and look at mine tomorrow, I haven't looked at it for some time now.

I agree with Chris, that 'White Knight' is very interesting.

Here is a photo of my 'Fuego' taken this morning. No fuzzy leaves on this one. Look around and see if you can find one that matches the below photo. Didn't you have something move things around in your bed awhile back?

Fuego is rockin' the house. Lynn's appears to be a tighter, flatter, more broad-leafed rosette. And less fuzzy than Greg's. And yet I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same plant... or different. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I like the rosette habit of Pilosum. Very flat, compact, uniform, and tight formation. Much like 'More Honey' or 'New Sunrise'. They don't need any color besides green to dazzle.
I'll ignore all the dead leaves in people's photos if they ignore all the pine needles in mine. I was pleased with this picture. That's 'Red Rum' in the foreground, not yet looking very red. The agenda for these guys in the upcoming growing season is... GROW!

Thumb of 2016-01-08/tcstoehr/5a5879

Anyone else deal with pine needles? They're not harmful but an aesthetic nuisance. It's not like I planted underneath a tree. The offending Fir tree is 100 feet away and is only a problem during the occasional southwesterly winds. I wonder if I could vacuum them up without sucking up all the gravel. Confused

Tim, I like the shwoy green of the moss(?) on the decorative tree branches. Looks like a good smattering of semps distributed amongst your new bed!
I dealt with cedar needles with fingers and tweezers; it's not an efficient process but hey, I'm retired.

The moss may or may not survive as these rocks were moved into this new, sunnier location. There aren't any tree branches in that picture, maybe you're seeing a piece of cement that used to hold a pole in the ground. But there is a pair of tweezers showing in the background. Seems like we both came to the same solution, great minds and all. Big Grin

Oh Tim, I am in love with that photo. Everything about it sings in my heart. Those lone semps will grow into beautiful colonies this coming growing season. Wow is that going to be beautiful.

Greg it is a lovely NOID. And yes there will be a 'Fuego' waiting to go home with you.

Wow, Lynn, that's an awesome reaction. Hurray! I've tried several times to take a miniature landscape picture with multiple specimens somewhat in focus, but they never came our right. This one came out good and wouldn't you know I wasn't even trying. You and Greg do a real good job of these and that's what I was trying to emulate.

Here's a picture of my 'Fuego'

Tim you are very bad, very bad. Where is your 'Fuego'? Do I see tiny offsets laying on their sides?

Some of my best photos are just plain luck. Your luck was running high on that one Tim. I keep going back and looking at it.
See how beautiful it is.
