Okay everyone, I just made some updates to the first post on this thread.
Pretty please, go to that post and double check to make sure you are signed up for all events that you want to attend.
Also, be sure to call the Red Lion for your reservations, you don't want to miss out on this great bargain price Kevin has attained for us.
Also, don't forget about pre-orders from the nurseries listed in the first post. I've already placed a couple of orders. Love that I won't have to pay postage. Hurray!
Purchase in advance and have delivered to the Plant Sale saving postage.

Wahooooo!

Reservations made at Red Lion for Thur, Fri, Sat nites (thanks for setting that deal up for us!). Plus they'll accommodate our dogbeasts.

I think we'll be in Portland area on Wed.

But...request here if anyone can provide direction:

We'll be traveling from Northern Utah in our DogChariot (minivan?) and will probably leave the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday before. So we'll have a few days to get to Oregon from here. I'm sure many of you have made that trip (or similar) before so - please make suggestions for the itinerary. We both love nature, photographing nature, staying off the beaten path, etc. We're not averse to taking backroads and detours (that seems to be the norm for our road trips)- nor to camping some, either. The dogs are pretty good about being left in the chariot for a couple of hours now and then so that's not necessarily a limiting factor.

So...what should we see/do? What is not to be missed between here and there? We're not very good at planning things - but getting some ideas in mind would be fantastic.

(Also, I think someone should design, produce, and make available a Sempervivum Society sash or bandoleer. They seem to have gone out of fashion for some reason - and we could be in the vanguard of bringing them back!!)
This is fun: The thread "Asa's former lawn...or (better) Dirt's current gardens" in Garden Photos forum

My bee site - I post a new, different bee photo every day:

Asa, you gave me my first laugh of the day. Group hug
I have this picture in my mind, our 2016 group photo for the clinic, all of us in these colorful sashe/bandoleers.

Oh my, the possibilities are endless for your car trip. We came across the norther part of Utah in 2013. Made a loop from here, down through CA, into NV then NM. Up to CO, across UT and back into Oregon. I still dream about it. Bring extra camera batteries & storage cards for your camera. You can sleep in the Van in some areas. The dogs will keep you warm. Big Grin
Pack easy to eat food for man and beast.

We did not plan our stops, we simply stopped whenever the landscape or signs to things looked interesting. We did google some of the areas we would be going through, took the Garmen and a wonderful large Rand McNally Road Atlas. This is the one we got in the 2013 version, worth every penny spent on it.

Yes! let's bring back the sash/bandolier/baldric Rolling on the floor laughing
That is hilarious, but I think we would all look nice and proper and proud in some colorful sashes, with handy pockets and loops for our equipment--perfect for pirates and sempaholics alike Hurray!

So who is going to design and create this new item? Just like in the 1800's. Green Grin!

I love what Bev has done, created a living decoration on her gardening hat made from semps and sedum. It was beautiful. Anyone have a photo or link for that hat?
