Besides a difference in light intensity/value, the lack of humidity is what really separates growing outside from growing inside. In dry and desert-like areas that's not true, but for the vast majority of the US, our homes are dry. I have always lived in areas where there is central air and heat, and these central-units squeeze water out of our air constantly.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
I thought I revive this thread since my Adenium babies come from the same batch of seeds as Ken's /@drdawg. I seeded mine out last April. They germinated easily, grew fine over the Summer and went pretty much dormant during the Winter, along with all my Fat Plants. These babies were kept in my sunny greenhouse and watered mostly everyday, since they dried out very quickly in that spot. One can still see the brown leaf edges from this Winter, but all plants have now nice new and green leaves and have started growing.
Viewing from different angles
I would think they need new soil? Some pinching?
I have up-potted a half dozen of mine, but the other dozen are still in 4" pots. I don't know what to do with all of them now that they have all taken off with new growth. IF I ever get my computer back (its been in the shop for 7 days) I will take some pictures and ask for advice.
