Welcome to the Discussion forum for our Mid-Atlantic Seed Swap! Do you have questions about using the "Seed Swaps" tool? Questions about packaging seeds? Questions about how a particular plant has done for somebody, or how to start a certain seed? This thread is for all that and more. It may be the only thread we need before the swap starts... we'll see!
We're all learners, doers, teachers.

Jill, how come my seed list isn't viewable? I have selected for it to be viewable by everyone. What have I done incorrectly?

Seq, I figured it out!

Go to the link that says » Manage your own swap list
Then click on the grey checkmark on the on the left hand side.

It doesn't show up as available unless the arrow is marked as green.

The reason for this extra step is for people who are participating in multiple swaps. We're swap #5.

Thanks SSG, that worked perfectly. I think picking seeds could be a good new past time with our new baby. I keep thinking of all the cool things the little girl and I can do together in the garden. Of course I'll want to keep a sharp eye out though as we have lots of dangerous stuff to kiddies in the garden.

Saw that swap membership is $18. Can I pay at restaurant on Sunday 31st? Or better to send check now?
I have about 30 Gerbera Jamesonii seeds but read they should be planted soon after collecting (plucked them early October). Bring them anyway? Or toss em?

There's a lot of extra info on the thread in the mid-Atlantic forum that you might want to take a look at... hmm, maybe that's my cue to copy it into this forum too!

$18 covers lunch with your choice of water, tea, or soft drink, plus tax & tip. Yes, you'll pay at the restaurant, in cash please. :-)

No clue about the Gerbera seeds... how about, add them to your seed swap list with a note and see if anybody wants to try them

Question--how do I get right back to this Swap sire if I close this window and go somewhere else?

Gita,
On the left hand pane at the top under the All Things Plants logo there is a line of icons, click the little person icon "Your Profile"
At the top of the screen under the heading "Your Actions", click "Change your public profile"
Scroll down to the bottom, last configurable item in the list is "Your avatar photo"
Browse to the photo you want to make your avatar
Then click the "Save your changes" button

Lisa---
I have not yet divided my Clivia. have no idea how many new plants i will get. Maybe 2 or 3?
Two potential divisions are already spoken for.

IF I divide them both--I will have more. As a rule, Clivias like to be root-bound .
Only dividing this first one because it is starting to misshapen the pot.
