oh my, I didn't know the ground had frozen! Glare
I wonder what will happen to the spring bulbs that had begun sending up shoots?

Don't worry over spring bulbs. They take it in stride.
All that sorting through my seeds box has me wanting to start some. Green Grin! After all, it's something you can do this time of year, in warm comfort indoors- unless you're wintersowing. I did a small pot with 9 datura seeds.
Plant it and they will come.

well, odd. I added Chelidonium to my swap list. My comment (invasive etc) shows as '12 words" Maybe I threw off some formatting by capitalizing 'will'

Sally, I think the comments only come up as "## words" when the word count is too high (>10 or so). You have to hover over the question mark to see the full comment.

Sally, if you go to "manage my swap list" and look on the top right, you should see an icon with a pencil; that's the edit icon.
It doesn't appear in the "view the full trade list" option (or whatever that's called).

I am trying winter sowing for the first time this year....in bulk. I am so nervous for the little seeds out there in this cold, but I am trying to have faith that they will do their thing.

Hi Marta! Welcome!

I really enjoy winter sowing. As long as the seedlings don't sprout too early, they seem to shrug off the cold!

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Sally--
Question-Inquiring minds want to know.... Whistling

Is it NOW time to start WS'ing my seeds? I want to "play around" with a few.
Haven't done it a lot--maybe twice? Need encouragement...
Where do you keep your WS containers in your garden? What is the best location? Confused

Some worked--some did not. Lack of natural exposure to rains--or watering..I think.

Gita, please don't look to ME for advice on wintersowing, I don't have any. I've barely ever done it, and just guess, and use whatever is handy. Example, I plan to put some seeds into a pot out in the garden with no protection, and just a couple labels.
Plant it and they will come.

muddy it is Verbena bonariensis. Not a graceful plant, but does make 2-4 foot tall thin stems with those 1 inch flower heads on top= skippers etc like them.
Plant it and they will come.
