My best guess would be Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans). Someone else may offer some other possibilities. @5601Lisa Edit to add a couple of photos from the database showing the pods.

I've never opened a Campsis pod. I need to do that. I have a couple of low growing plants that make pods that look similar with fly-away seeds to the questioned pods, but they aren't vines. I followed Kent's link. I'm not familiar with that one. Always something new to learn! It does look correct.

Yep, looks like black swallow-wort. Many thanks Kent. I was about to offer pods to my Seed Swap, thinking they were trumpet vine. Plan to trash the pods pronto.
