I accidentally posted a wrong image left of my name, how do I change it and/or how to delete it if necessarily?

Very easy to do:

Click on your profile icon



Click on Change your public profile



At the bottom of the page you'll see Your avatar photo. You can delete and change it here.

Anne, would you consider letting us re-use your screenshots in other posts?

(I got the "lightbox" text by Quoting your post:

Then we could re-use your screenshot in other posts without wasting Dave's servers' storage.
By displaying or linking to your screenshots, I could save some typing and obscure attempts to describe it each time.

If you don't mind, which format would you prefer I use?

Problem, there is no avatar photo in my avatar section. Now what? I think the problem started when I attempted to 'click in' an acorn emoji but accidentally dragged it instead. I tried to reverse it but couldnt' edit the sent tree mail.

There might not be any way to remove the "acorn" default icon / avatar.

You can turn off seeing everyone's avatar -
Profile
Change your site preferences
Show member avatars? - - - - NO

You can also disable seeing the animated jumping smileys / emoticons:
Show forum smilies and emoticons?

And social media doo-dads:
Show facebook and other social media widgets?

One handy field there is how many posts to show per "page":
Show how many items per page?

If you have a slow connection like dial-up, the number should be set low so you don;t have to wait to see the posts. If you have a fast connection, using a large number means less jumping around. I use "100" so I know how many posts there are in a thread with (say) 10 pages.

If this field does not default to "YES", you probably want to set it that way:
Automatically jump to the first unread post in threads? - - - - YES
