Six - 20" containers of Salvia 'Lady in Red'. They're not blooming very heavily yet in this pic. Two rows on them in the back yard.

Sorry that some of the pics I've added aren't Agastaches and Salvias (since the thread is titled that). *Blush*

Lovey dubby Beautiful! How many containers do you have? I see we have a lot of the same plants but then we are fairly close in location. Yours look a lot better than most of mine right now. It has been so dry that I've just kept them hanging on and that's about it. But temps are supposed to actually be in the 70' this coming week. Hurray!

What is the plant in the first picture? And what are the names of the coleus in pictures 5 and 7?

Tee, Tamara, and Ann,

Thank you! Big Grin

This year I have 40 containers, but I planned on having 48 - 50, but because of the long very wet Spring we had and then, the very long hot Summer, I couldn't do it and I had plants die that while waiting to be potted up. Crying Sad

Trying to make sure all the containers and the flowers I planted into the ground this yr., I spent all my time trying to keep them watered. I still ended up having newly planted Agastaches die in the ground. Blinking I have containers in 24", 20", 16" and 3 large black tubs (nurseries use that size for trees), see pic 6 for two of them. I've been trying to only use those sizes and larger and not pot up containers any smaller anymore.

The first pic is Phygelius 'Croftway Purple Prince' (Cape Fuchsia). Zone 7 plant. It's my first time planting it and I Lovey dubby it! I found it this yr. at my local Lowe's in a one gallon pot. Thumbs up

I'll check the two containers of Coleus this wk. and let you know. Smiling

I'm really looking forward to the 70's this wk. also! We might get some of TS Lee during a few days this wk. We sure need some days of good soaking rains here.

Jo Ann,

Beautiful pics of your Agastaches! I plant most of mine in the ground, but also plant some in containers each year.

Karen,

Where did you get your Yvonne's Salvia plants/seeds? Beautiful!

How many plants of it are in your pic? Do they reseed each year? How tall and wide do they get?

It looks like we might have gotten a shower overnight, but the sidewalks and streets are mostly dry now, so probably not much rain.

Marilyn, I initially got my Yvonne's salvia seeds from Emily on GardenWeb about 5 or 6 years ago. There's is a yahoo Yvonne's salvia group, which used to be active but looks like not now. Yvonne and her 6 foot salvia plants were well known on GardenWeb at the time. Read the story here:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/g...

Yvonne and Emily used high test ferts and got 6 foot plants. I only use organic ferts and my plants usually only reach about 4' maximum. They reseed heavily. I think there are 8 plants in my picture above.

I had wondered how many plants were in that display. It's good looking, that's for sure.

Now that it's light enough to see the rain gauge, I see we've had about 2" so far. Not a lot of wind and storming. Just what we need. More to come.

It's great to see this thread for Agastaches and Salvias getting so much interest, Danita. I am lovin' it. Happy we have it. Thumbs up
