Glad you guys are seeing some relief.

Is it fair to say that in z5 Agastache and Salvia are annuals or short lived perennials?

Our wind and heavy rain knock mine over, too. I only have one left, a tall one but I don't remember which. I have it staked with some similar to this, only different sizes from a different company.

Yes, I have a bunch of them. All summer I still have to steal them from one plant to move it to support another. I have different sizes, too, and mine interlock. I bought them at Smith and Hawkin's going out of business sale. I wish I'd bought twice as many at the time. But I have so many plant stakes my husband will evict me if I buy one more- I almost need another house to store all my plant junk in winter.

Thats good advise. I will buy more in spring. Diff sizes too. Kinsman catalogue has them in diff. sizes but I will check local to save shipping. I wonder about Bestnest for half rounds.
Too bad about Smith Hawken.I got nice trellises from them.

Just checked Kinsman 12 20 inch for 55 dollars
12 - 34 inch for 70 dollars. Over 120. bucks Hmmmmm
I dont dare add up what I have spent for supports. Lilies must be a lot.
When you buy them in small numbers you dont realize how much of an investment it is.

it rained so much here.. I just let my desert sunrise flop this year.. last year I didn't have luck just putting ties on a stake.. some of my shorter ones seem to recover after the rain and stand back up.. I have to look which new pink one I bought this year.. such a standout .. it's in a container and doing really well

Evan, I think you are the coolest-zoner here. I could answer your question but I think it's best not to lie - at least about plants.... Whistling

Tee, you need to get a photo of the leaves close up to help ID it. Might be black & blue but I'm certainly lacking in the salvia ID dept. Do the leaves & if someone here can't ID it then post it on the plant ID forum.
