Enchanting Esmerelda is a pretty flower and grew well in my zone 8A garden, but it was a rust magnet. In fact, it was this plant and one other (Admirald's Braid) which introduced me and my garden to daylily rust in the summer of 2007.

Good info to know, Larry! I was 'enchanted' by it when I first saw it. Too bad it is a rust magnet. The bloom is so pretty.

New fall 2015. 2 small fans that settled in well. We will see how it does next year.

Has grown quite well here in a few years, despite brutal winters. I do find the coloration quite distinctive. A friend of mine had success with it in Michigan as well. Bud count so far has not been great, but fairly typical (around 10) for a Southern plant in the North.

This is a very pretty flower. Planted in Spring 2021, in a less than ideal location, it bloomed in 2022, July 12-24 with 9 blooms. Still only 2 fans, it hasn't expanded. However, EE was rust free as other blooms around it became rusty.

Down here the problem with Enchanting Esmerelda was rust, beautiful blooms, good growth and decent rate of multiplying but very rusty.

2023 update…EE had a long bloom season this year, from July 5 through August 3 with at least 13 flowers. By October, it added another fan, now totaling 3. Not very fast increase…
