Welcome aboard, Crabapple! I'm a newbie, too, and still learning about rust (which I haven't seen either). I'm sure somebody here can tell you if it's likely in the Midlands of South Carolina, but I can't! Welcome!

Crabapple - Welcome!

Rust usually dies (if you get it) during cold, freezing Winters. Those of us in the deep south have to either treat the Rust Fungus or remove rust prone daylilies from our gardens.

Welcome Crabapple.

None of my "old" daylilies from the 90's have gotten or kept rust thus far.
They've been exposed and if any tiny rust spot shows, they kick it off and it doesn't go any farther.
I've never had to spray these plants thus far.

However, these aren't the daylilies most want to buy.
Buyers seem to want "bling."
But I must say I'm tired of spraying the "bling" plants and they may go soon.
