Like bromeliads, another epiphyte I mount without companions is the staghorn fern. I will mount two smallish stags together on a mount, simply so that can grow towards each other, producing a larger plant faster. Smaller mounts will have single plants though. I typically don't mount more than one orchid on a mount and as Elaine stated, I wouldn't mount Catt. with Phal. The main reason I stay with a single variety on a mount is because this is for sale, not for my pleasure. There is surely nothing wrong in having multiple orchids on a large mount, one variety or several varieties.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Instead of hijacking my own thread with what I have blooming, I started a new one called "blooming today".

The thread "Blooming today" in Orchids forum

Anna, you are not at all hijacking any thread with your truly interesting and pretty posts!!
We have the monthly threads so people don't have to look all over the place for "stuff" Smiling
I do think if you want people to see your posts, it is not a good idea to isolate yourself in separate threads unless you are truly trying to highlight something very different.
Heh, I wish everybody would "hijack" our bloom threads the way you might do!! I say, go for it.
Perhaps you might like to have a look around?
Sincerely,
Your friendly mod. Smiling
