Tree Stumps as Garden Elements

By Dutchlady1

It is always sad to have to get rid of a mature tree. When you do have to take that step, consider leaving a stump about 3-5 ft high to use as a pedestal for a pot or other art object to make a feature.

My aunt in central Ohio had several bajillion-year-old maple trees in front of her house. The village cut them down a couple years ago because they were neither safe nor healthy. She also lost some huge pines in an ice storm.

She hired a chain saw artist to come and work his magic on them.

This was one of the trees -- he carved squirrels Smiling

Thanks! There are more. She has either 4 or 5 total. I can't figure out if that squirrel I posted is the same tree in both pictures.

These are gorgeous! We have someone out here who does an amazing job with old trees too, some are dead, some are chopped. She's called Renaissance Girl, and her name is Susan O'Sullivan: https://www.facebook.com/Chain...

You don't kick walls down, you pull the nails out and let them fall.
