I have a couple hibiscus (pics attached) which are in pots. I am unsure as to whether I should be pruning these back or not. They have no issue with continuing to put out flowers in numbers, but I question whether by mid-summer they will be just too large for their containers (and/or have a problem with being root-bound). Any input welcome.

I cut back all of my tropical hibiscus in the Fall and put them in my greenhouse for winter since I live in zone 8 - I also root prune mine every couple of years in order to keep from having to up the size of the pots they are in. They do just fine. It takes a couple of months for them to recover because of the colder temperatures. Usually by April they are fully bushy again and putting on buds. Considering your zone, yours would probably recover a whole lot quicker.
