I have one in the ground, and one in a pot. They both look dead and frozen. The one in the pot has been covered well this winter, but I want to know if they will come back again?

Hi Hummingbird - Can you tell us what zone you're in? It would help give you a more correct answer. The frozen part isn't sounding too hopeful however it could come back from the seeds the purslane dispersed.

I agree I agree with Vicki.

Purslane is a warm weather plant and thrives in dry climates.

Do you know what kind you have? Did you take any pics before the cold came?

They both had 3 colors bright yellow, salmon, and fushia pink. As the purslane type I don't know. I live in zone 8 El Paso, TX.

I would think in your zone and there is a good chance of re-seeding. I'm actually surprised they didn't keep blooming.

If your plants had flat, rounded leaves, they were probably P. umbraticola:
Wingpod Purslane (Portulaca umbraticola)

The entry says they are annuals, but there seems to be much evidence to the contrary, that they are tender perennials, like Coleus. All of the greenery growing out of the side holes of this pot are P. umbraticola.
