Columbines are one of my favorite early spring flowers - so graceful and delicate. I especially like the long spurred ones, although I find them to be short lived for me. My response is to simply make it a point to buy 1-2 new ones every season (in bloom) to brighten my spirit. Gorgeous banner!

Wow. What a pleasant surprise to see my first ever banner up. As one who is really still quite new here, I am not only pleased but genuinely touched by the kind words, thumbs up and even acorns...and humbled to be in your good company. Thank you very much.
I do love columbines and always seem to give in to the annual temptation to buy them. The problem is the cross-pollination. They can be fabulous the first year, and compliment each other so well, and then the next, well, seriously not so much. Happy going and growing. Peace, Sean

I agree. After a few years of wow, I usually end up with a bunch of short-spurred insipid lavender plants, I assume seedlings from the hybrids. That's why I treat myself to new ones just about every year, to keep the main show going! Congrats to Whitebeard on a lovely first banner -- keep 'em coming!
