Wren,
The leaves are awesome! I especially love #1 & #2, evergreens?, and #5, #6 and #7!

The texture on #5 makes it look like a fuzzy swan or bird, and #6 next to it takes on a Bamboo quality.

Wonderful detail you captured! Just GREAT!

I'm trying to landscape my property for the first time, and your pictures are helping me understand about textural interest. Sometimes, the texture of the shrubs and foliage is more captivating than the color.

Thanks, again!

Thank you.
I wish you could get to this garden they have so many different kinds of plants. Most are planted and then allowed to do their "thing" . A great place to see what a plant looks like in a garden. I wish I had gotten some of the planting combinations(?) but I kept getting distracted my the leaves. Big Grin

Ok, next time, zoom OUT, so we can see those combinations! I am not the one for decorating or designing, so, I need all the help I can get!

Hugs!

Will do next time I go down there, but I keep getting distracted. But I do have a few that came out fair. I need to do some thing about the fogging up problem I had.

As you can see from these they put everything close.

Note to self make sure you have changed the lighting setting from indoor back to out door- but it does make a interesting picture.

Wren,
There's a particular style of landscaping that has always appealed to me. It is captured in your pictures #1-3!

I've been trying to figure out what it's called for years now. It has to do with what I refer to as "fern gullies". I love, love, love ferns, and I think the dark green, leathery, wispy foliage, and the black shadows. Just something about that look has always caught my attention.

My perfect garden would have ferns, cobblestone/brick walkways, and dark green and deep purple shrubs. After a rainstorm, the raindrops would cling to all the ferns!

Think, New Orleans courtyards...maybe that's it. That's where I'm from...

Hurray!

You would love this place it has a lot of that. If you ever get to Florida you would have to go, just do not go in the late summer, way to hot.
