Plant ID forum: What kind of plant is this??

My daughter bought a house in Hot Springs, SD. THere is this plant that grows on a trellis on the south side of the house. Doesn't get very tall and the stems are flat. Never seen it before.

I agree with Arlene, it looks like Sweet Pea, maybe Everlasting Pea (Lathyrus latifolius)
