The photos in the database do not look like the same semp - Lynn, your pic looks smooth while the others have a little bit of cilia. I know we talked about Nightwood before but don't remember and can't find the thread...

That looks like what I have. Although I also have the other one which I call 'Fernwood's Nightwood'

So then Lynn's photo is the poser? I don't see the cilia on it like the others.

I think I took that photo at Kevin's place.

Oh, I think he said that's the imposter. He wanted SMG to call it SMG Nightwood I think, b/c it's too purdy to be a noid.

May I see a picture of the one which was taken at Kevin's? Which I take it is an "imposter" (OH NO)

I like to see things side by side... so if someone could post side by side Real vs imposter it is helpful.

Gregs looks to have thinner leaves than Bev (aka websemps) but???? Allowing for differences in growing environments and times of year etc... Couldn't these all be the same plant?

Yes Marilyn, Bev gave me my plant, so the only differences are probably age of plant - as Bev's gets older it is changing and mine follows To my mind, this is the correct plant.
I also got one from Kevin that he calls "SMG Nightwood" - I don't have a photo of it. The actual Nightwood (which is what is in the database) is prettier to me My own opinion. But I only got the other plant late last summer so it may surprise me this spring!

But does Kevin's look very different? I keep thinking there is a missing picture referred to by Lynn that she took at Kevin's home?

yes there is a missing photo!! SMG's is totally different, smooth and a different color

Here you go Marilyn, I finally found it on my computer.
It is beautiful, but as you can see it has no tufting at the tip of the leaves.

Pretty though and you are right not fuzzy at all Now this thread makes sense.

Also in the fall mine turned more green and the real Nightwood stays reddish!

So nobody has the true 'Nightwood'? All of them are imposters?

I have the true (from @webesemps) if she kept some of the plant then she has some too, and I may have given some to Patty and or Julia can't remember that part. So I have both real and impostor!

Nope my Nightwood bit the dust in CA and the red coloring did not stay in the cooler weather.
