I don't usually grow seedlings in my house from the year before. Last summer I forgot to plant this one in my sdlg. garden, and at the end of the season when it got cold, I found this sdlg. left behind on my deck. I repotted it, and brought into the house, and placed it in the dining-room window. In the past month, I have been feeding it some dry soluble Seaweed extract. Voila! It bloomed today. This is a 13 month old sdlg,, purchased from Ruby last Winter on the LA, with 6 buds, 6" orange bloom veined in red, green throat. This is sdlg.

So nice in the middle of Winter, looking out the window at the ski slopes in the distance, with a lovely breathe of summer blooming in my house.

That is so cool! Can't believe you get a bloom from a 13 month old seedling! No wonder there is alot of hybridizers located in the warm states. I have a couple 2 years old seedlings that have not bloomed yet. Hopefully, they will bloom for me this year.

Thanks for your comments. I didn't make this clear in my brief statement. This plant came from seeds purchased from Ruby on the LA. I started these seeds last Dec. 2014, 13 months ago, along with other seeds at the same time. The other seeds, grew into plants, and were placed in my seedling beds. This plant just slipped my notice, and grew out on my mountain deck all summer and Fall.
