Edelweiss is where I got a few. Purple Prince would still be here if I hadnt "weeded " it out by mistake.
I also had a beautiful white but it didnt get past the first winter. I should never buy plants that start with Z6 or 5.
I like the way epies don insinuate themselves in a shade garden. Just quietly do their thing.
I do agree that they have some beautiful choices, but I always take into consideration the shipping charges when ordering. Now that I know that there is such a variety here I'll start looking in my area for them. Maybe I'll get lucky like ValleyLyn and find someone local!
When all is said and done, there’s more said than done.
Rose, It is always wise to shop local. The plants are bought for your zone.
I found an epimedium at a Garden Store here not a Big Box. Good luck.
All this epimedium talk made me want another one but the garden budget is smashed for this year and I had forgotten how pricey they are.
I can buy them in gallon containers for $8 at one of the local nurseries here, but their selection is highly limited, so I'm always looking for other sources. Fortunately, Edelweiss' shipping rates to California are quite reasonable.
I seem to remember a nursery in MI that carried Epimediums but I sure can't remember the name of it.
