Hah! Well, he's been here so many times before we've known each other for years. When I first bought this land the phone line went from the hard road telephone pole, quarter mile away or so, though the woods from tree limb to tree limb across other peoples property to my place. It was common for deer or other critters to knock it down causing the phone service men to walk the woods finding the damage. They wouldn't put telephone lines down my dirt road for 2 years, when someone else bought land next to me.

Go figger, eh?

Sure sounds rural! Reminds me of when we lived in Lenoir City, TN!

Not as rural as I'd like. Now we are right next to an Interstate, 10 acres or so way. I can hear the traffic some days, can see car lights at night during the winter when trees leave the trees.

When I grow up I'll move to Texas and buy 100 acres next to ya'll. :>)

Off to set out some broccoli, collards, Chinese cabbage. With this hurricane moving in I'm sure it'll water them in for me.

Best!

Ugh, I know what droughts are like, have had too many here in the past 20-something years...

...matter of fact, I'll blog about it soon, giving ya'll an idea how to put an end to it.. And you started it, Dave! Smiling

GREAT story Shoeman, well, except for the rat part - yuck - Thumbs down and I want to hear how to end a drought too.

I remember the drought we had in the early 2000's and it was terrible and scary. I want to be ready if drought pays a visit again. Crying
