I've had it for a long time.
The foliage is like grass, it also increases like grass.
Some years it's a good bloomer, some years there will be a huge clump with very few scapes...

One of my favorites. Slow to increase here, but tough, tough, tough in drought. Thumbs up

I have had Double River Wye for quite a few years now and have no problems growing it here in SW Michigan. When I first started growing daylilies I fell in love with Frank Kropf doubles and was fortunate enough to order many from Robin at Earlybird Daylilies. I have only seen double flowers on Double River Wye...a trait that my Kropf doubles all seem to have in common. Double River Wye is also pod and pollen fertile.

Double River Wye is a nice yellow double and it is a very hardy one here in zone 6b. It is rather tall, increases slowly and doubles 100% of the time. It is a good plant and I would recommend it if you need a yellow double.

I too have had this daylily for a long time. It is somewhat unpredictable in my zone 8 garden. I assume this is because it is a dormant. However, when it does bloom, it is a beautiful shade of yellow and always double. And yes the foliage is grassy. I may see how it does as a parent if I get any blooms this year. Lol

I bought this delightful Daylily last summer at the Region 15 Summer Meeting. All the previous comments reinforce why It was purchased. Can't wait for this summer to see how it performs.

I purchased DRW from Earlybird in 2012, it has performed well with average increase, and a bloom that has always doubled. I am not a big fan of doubles, with the exception of Zada Mae ( one of my favorite Daylilies) so despite it doing well here, I can see it finding a new home one day. I will say that I really like the color of yellow that it displays in it's bloom.
