At the risk of enciting a riot, I love this plant at the base of trees - it colonizes quickly, the variegated leaves are a nice bright spot, and the airy flowers are pretty as well. I do realize this can be a thug in some regions, but for me it has just not been a problem. My friend had some growing all along the north side of her house with a mix of mature shrubs, and it was stunning. I would hesitate to introduce it to a perennial flower bed, but I find it quite useful as a reliable filler for shady spots. I control the spread by mowing.

I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
